Support Program for Buildings + Sustainable
The Government launched on 7 September 2020, the Support Program for More Sustainable Buildings, under which it will help owners of houses prior to 2006 to improve their energy efficiency and, at the same time, encourage economic activity.
The main objective is to mitigate the effects of climate change, supporting small works in housing prior to 2006, such as the installation of equipment, heating, cooling, or the production of domestic hot water using renewable energy sources. Among the products included in the program we can find Heat Pumps, which include Air Conditioning equipment, Solar Thermal Energy solutions, among others.
Candidates for the fund must initially carry out the work, and register it with photographs of before and after the completed works, fill in the application form and submit their application on the Fundo Ambiental website. If the application is accepted, the amount will later be credited to the applicant's bank account.
Along with the form and photos, the following documents must also be submitted in the process:
- Energy certificate is only required in the case of buildings or fractions that have been sold, leased or subject to major rehabilitation after January 1, 2009 (for which the presentation of an energy certificate was required), the application must include a copy of valid energy certificate. If the property has not been subject to one of the aforementioned operations, then the application can be submitted without an energy certificate. You can search and find the certificate for your home (if it exists and is valid) on the Portal "Certifying is Valuing"
- Landbook and housing license of the owner (it must be the applicant)
- Receipt of the work carried out, dated after September 7, 2020, in the candidate's name, with all expenses itemized.
- Technical documentation (varies depending on the various technologies covered.)
It should be noted that the deadline for submitting applications for the Incentive runs from September 7, 2020 until December 31, 2021 or until the total amount available is exhausted.
